The Sports Investing Professional - Monday

Sunday Recap - Players today really amaze me. Just so
you understand....I'm not that old. About 15 years ago
I was playing college baseball. The thing is that if I was
Robinson Cano, I would be man enough to take my own
life right in the showers. I'd be like "Sid" from An Officer
and a Gentleman...swinging by my own belt. We lost
Sunday and I'm actually not that upset about it because
I learned a lot about the Yankees that is going to help me
if they happen to make the playoffs. Cano stranded at
least 10 guys and Texeria....he's just as bad and he's the
one that makes me think about the difference between
the players today and say 20 years ago. Back then even
the 3 or 4 hitter would make an adjustment when they
had 2 strikes to just get the ball in play and see what happens.
Texeria had the bases loaded and 2 strikes and didn't
do a damn thing different. Guys like him could give a shit
if they strike out or not...strikeouts are acceptable now
if you put up the other numbers. Players used to be
embarassed to strike out. Not anymore. That brings
me to my point about the Yankees. Watching tonight and
doing some research on their season...yes they are 2nd
in runs scored but when they don't hit home runs...they
have trouble scoring because they are AWFUL at
manufacturing runs. Teams like that are GREAT fades
in the playoffs. Playoff baseball is all about the pitching so
here is hoping they make it so we can pound away at
the sportsbooks by fading them. Otherwise...well we
lost one...losing sucks.

For today we actually are going to have 2 plays. First
we'll look to the Marlins. They have OWNED the Nats
this year and in some ways that concerns me because
it's tough to beat a team 7,8,9 in a row but Nolasco has
been so tough lately and the Marlins just seem to
light up the Nat's pitchers...I just cant resist. The second
play is the Chicago White Sox. It's really a a tale of two
teams. Cleveland has been getting beat by NL teams which
is criminal and combine that with the fact that Gavin Floyd
might be the A.L's hottest pitcher in his last 4-5 starts while
Pavano, after some early season success is fading back a bit.

Let's go 2-0 today!

MLB - FLORIDA MARLINS -170 [LISTED]: OLSEN / NOLASCO] 850 / 500

MLB - CHICAGO WHITE SOX -EVEN [LISTED]: FLOYD / PAVANO] 500 / 500
